Welcome to Camp Manitou!

Tucked in a cozy bend on the Assiniboine River in Headingley, Manitoba, Camp Manitou is conveniently located off #1 Highway less than half a kilometer west of the Perimeter on 28 beautiful, rustic acres.

Since 1930, Camp Manitou has been overseen by a coalition of six founding Winnipeg Service Clubs who continue their commitment to ensure that all children have the opportunity to experience healthy, safe, enjoyable and enriching outdoor-based activities ‘one great camp day at a time’.

Camp Manitou’s principal focus is partnering with inner city and other community and family agencies that program for large and small groups of children and youth who are often less advantaged and more vulnerable. These agencies include time at Camp Manitou in their overall programming and work closely with the director and staff of the Camp to design great activity schedules that perfectly suit each group’s needs. Activities can include swimming in the pool, archery, canoeing, zip lining, a challenging ropes course, wall climbing, indoor and outdoor games and so much more – all supervised by trained activity managers.   Day campers enjoy snacks and lunch as part of their visit, and overnight campers (Camp Manitou can accommodate up to 70 overnight guests) have a terrific home-away- from-home adventure. The agencies and organizations that bring children to Camp Manitou also bring their own adult group leaders who are already familiar to the children.

Accredited by the Manitoba Camping Association, Camp Manitou is also an excellent and affordable option for schools, organizations, companies and clubs planning day or overnight retreats, teambuilding, training, spiritual enrichment (we are accepting of all faiths and denominations), and just plain fun all year round. These bookings are available when there is no regular camp programming scheduled and include accessibility to all of our great indoor and outdoor facilities, equipment and amenities.
