TNYF Training’s First Aid & Safety track includes seventeen Red Cross First Aid courses as well as WHMIS 2015. All courses are Manitoba Workplace Compliant.
FIRST AID
First Aid Workshop – This is a free 2 hour course to introduce people to First Aid and give the basics of what to do in a Medical Emergency. Beneficial for new immigrants, unhoused individuals, youth and more. No Cost
Emergency First Aid (8 hour) – Preparing to Respond, Check Call Care, Choking, Circulation Emergencies, Breathing Emergencies, Wound Care $85
Standard First Aid (16 hour) – All of the EFA plus the following: Head Neck Spine, Bone Muscle Joint, Medical Emergencies, Environmental Emergencies and Poisons. New Course – $135 Recert (8 hour) $85
Childcare Emergency First Aid (8 hour) – For anyone working in a Childcare setting. It focuses on Life-threatening First Aid and Medical conditions relevant to young children and includes CPR-A/AED. $85
Childcare Standard First Aid (16 hour) – For those working in a Childcare setting, this course expands on the Childcare Emergency First Aid, adding non life-threatening injuries and illnesses. $135 Recert (8 hour) $85
Basic Life Support– (4 hour) CPR skills in a team environment for professionals with a duty to respond. Rapid assessment, Basic Life Support skills, Rapid defibrillation including use of an AED. Airway Management and Oxygen Therapy can also be added as additional certifications to this course. $75
Airway Management – (1.5 hour) For Healthcare Workers and First Responders. Provides knowledge & skills using Oropharyngeal and Nasopharyngeal Airways and how to use a pulse oximetry. $45
Oxygen Administration – (1.5 hour) Provides the skills to correctly identify the need for, and how to administer supplemental oxygen. Includes instruction in the proper and safe handling/use of supplemental oxygen equipment including the different delivery devices. $45
Basic Life Support (BLS), Airway Management (AM) and Oxygen Administration (OA) can all be taught as stand alone courses or together.
First Responder (40 hour) – Emergency Care that takes First Aid to an advanced livel of care for those who work in high-risk environments. Learners will gain the knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate patient assessments, interventions and treatment to support patients while accessing further care. Includes Professional Responder Manual. $600 Recert (20 hour) $250
Advanced First Aid (80 hour) – Emergency Care for Workplace Responders. Learners will gain the knowledge and skills needed to provide appropriate patient assessments, interventions, and ongoing care as the primary responder in a workplace. Includes BLS, AM and OA, as well as Professional Responder Manual and Equipment. This course meets CSA Standard Z1210-17 First Aid Training for the Workplace. $1150 (50% to be paid upfront, reminder by start of course) Recert (40 hour) $600
Wilderness Remote First Aid (20-hour) – For individuals who live, work or spend time in non-urban, wilderness locations located less than 3 hours from organized health care. Includes Planning, Prevention, and Situational Awareness as well as First Aid. Includes Wilderness & Remote Field Guide. $250 Recert (10 hour) $100
Wilderness Advanced First Aid (40-hour) – For Individuals who are Professional Guides, Parks Officials, work in Recreation, Ecotourism, Remote Work locations, take Groups into the wilderness or spend time in the wilderness, 3 or more hours from organized healthcare. (For Workplace requirements -please ensure that you have checked organizational requirements). Includes planning a multi-day trip, prevention, health and wellness of group, leadership skills, assessment, extended care and decision making, communication. Includes a Wilderness & Remote Field Guide. $425 Recert (20 hour) $250
Wilderness First Responder (80 hour) Provides comprehensive, advanced first aid and CPR skills including BLS, OA and AM for emergencies in remote settings. This course prepares participants to offer urgent evacuation and extended care where professional medical care is significantly delayed. Ideal for professional rescuers, guides, and others working in wilderness environments. It develops crucial leadership qualities and the ability to make critical decisions in challenging situations. A significant portion of the course is taught in outdoor settings, focusing on hands-on skills, extrication, and the effective use of professional tools. Participants should be in strong physical condition, as the course involves high levels of physical activity and endurance. New Course $1150 Recertification $600
Marine Basic First Aid (20 hour) This course equals Standard First Aid with additional components focused on Marine emergencies. It is certified by Transport Canada and meets their requirements for smaller commercial vessels as outlined in Transport Publication (TP) 13008E. $175 Recert $95
Marine Advanced First Aid (30 hour) – As above with additional marine-specific knowledge, including using equipment and skills in a marine environment and transferring patients. $250 Recert $135
First Aid for Dogs and Cats (Online – your speed) The First Aid for Dogs and Cats online course teaches you the essential skills to care for your pets in emergencies. From handling choking incidents to recognizing the signs of a seizure, this course gives you the confidence to act quickly and effectively, ensuring your pets are always in good hands. $40
SAFETY
WHMIS 2015 (2.5 hour) – Requirement for workplaces who have employees with contact with, or work with chemicals. It covers responsibilities, labels, symbols, safety data sheets, routes of entry and risk management. $35
Risk Management Workshop – This is a workshop around the risks involved in the workplace which we design to meet the specific needs of the organization requesting it.
