Travis Price’s legacy is the gift of outdoor adventure and education

Travis Price had a zest for life, was always embracing adventure and opportunity and was a talented athlete. At just 16, Travis passed away suddenly from an undiagnosed heart condition during a game of hockey. Supported by the Price family, Travis’ three best boyhood friends channeled their grief toward honouring his memory and launched the Travis Price Classic Golf Tournament. A lover of nature and the outdoors, Travis spent many of his own formative years attending summer camp, making it a natural fit to build on his legacy by enriching the lives of other youth through a cause that embodies his own values of kindness, inclusiveness, adventure and teamwork. For the past 16 years, Camp Manitou has been extremely fortunate and grateful to be the benefactor of more than $3.6 million raised in Travis’ memory. These funds have gone toward building and innovating camp grounds and activities to provide new opportunities for more youth to learn and grow through the camp experience. Over the years, this has included new outdoor fitness equipment, water-filling stations, this summer’s unique new addition of a human foosball course and more. Over and above the annual tournament, Price Industries and the Price family donated funds to build a modern and expanded lodge – The Travis Price Centre – which allowed Camp Manitou to double their daily summer attendance.
With a celebration of camaraderie and charity held for each year of Travis’ life, the 2025 tournament marked the 16th and final Travis Price Classic. Through this generosity, countless youth have been meaningfully impacted in Travis’ memory, developing life skills, cultivating friendships, gaining newfound confidence and independence and most of all, creating memories and having fun.
